The TRG is a tractor with a short wheel base and its accurate steering with its extremely tight turning circle allows it to get amongst rows of crops rapidly.
By disengaging the front axle and using the steering brakes the turning circle is reduced to a minimum, and is improved further by the "superbend effect": the front wheel on the inside of the bend, due to the geometry of the steering arms, independently increases its own steering angle thus eliminating any problem
regarding vehicle locking.
The hydraulically servo-assisted steering wheel is sensitive and assures great accuracy of manoeuvre and rapid disengagement in all situations: on slopes, with transverse speeds, in difficult situations, amongst rows of crops.
The minimum internal turning circle is 1850 mm (72,8 in) while the external is 3200 mm (126 in).
ADVANTAGES
- Articulated homokinetic joints = tight steering without wheel locking;
- Disengagement of front axle = less space is needed for manoeuvre without damaging the ground;
- Steering brakes = the tractor can practically turn on itself.
- Hydraulic system "group 1", completely independent, receives its motion directly from the engine = serves first of all the hydroguide system and then the commands' solenoid valves thereby guaranteeing that the steering is always power assisted.
